Gotta Own My Part
We are staying another day in Crestone. Many positive things going on. I took the opportunity to ride Sunshine Kitty – Rock Drops Loop.
A look at the crazy rocks the trail wove around and over.

It is one of the rarified Zeke Certified (TM) trails. Actually, there are only 4 in existence: Soquel Demo Flow Trail (the link is to the first of several of the trail’s sections), Star Pass Main Loop and 3 Mile Smile; it was was terrific.
Man did I make a wrong turn though which became a carry a bike horror. Anyway, all is forgiven; the thing is a work of art.
I’m amazed I can ride uphill. Not saying I was floating; rather wow much better than in the lower elevation Santa Fe.
These red flowers dotted the land through which the trail led.

By the way, I did two things differently. The first is I actually took the opportunity to catch my breath and look around. Sometimes I’m gasping so much that terrain I would otherwise make it up can’t be done. Translation: I’m pushing my bike. Today, I stopped if that was the case to give myself a chance. I also rerode some of the sections I didn’t make first time.
(Should I explain the post title is a way of saying that on rides where I don’t take a breather, etc, it means I’m not honoring where I am at and that like all of us, I am permitted to have a second chance.)
Another magnificent sunset.

Not too much else; more pancakes, laundry. You know what I’m saying.
The legs of dining table in this place provide an exquisite foot massage.
