Switching Gears
We are close to hitting the afterburners to high tail it east. The bus has to be found and renovated and, holy smokes, July is coming up fast!
Being here has answered some big time questions surrounding the Recorrido. We now have a philosophically aligned fiscal sponsor to allow for tax deductible donations. We have also found the right film crew. Their grace, professionalism and consideration emanates as they work and interact, both with their subjects and themselves, and was art in of itself. Coupled with their passion for what the Recorrido is all about made it a no brainer.
We again benefited from our hosts culinary talent, this time a breakfast we enjoyed with our host, our new film crew friends and another guest who definitely had teh knowledges.
En route to Colorado Springs we had a happy surprise, passing the Arkansas River headwaters. As much as we need to get there, this was too much to miss. The chilly snowmelt felt great on our calves and feet.
A view of the Arkansas River.

It seems the entire valley encompasses the headwaters; where the river actually starts was too far north for the time we had.
The views along the route were astounding.

We are back in college baby! Due to the combination of a lack of local campsites and the reality that internet and telephone are that important, we are in yet another Airbnb. The host has a decent sized house, rented bedrooms with push button locks, a couple dogs and a cat. TV is on though muted. Complementary PBR is in the in-room mini fridge. PARTY OUT OF BOUNDZ!!!!!!!!111111
