Right now I am close to conceding we are renting a bus or van or something. Remember from science class the symbol for approaches (>> or <<)?

Then there’s that the phrase, “Once the decision is made, the doing is effortless?” Is it true? Certainly our individual definitions of the word effortless are anything between subtlety to absolutely different. A full on paint job was far from on my mind when I was imagining the steps involved in the creation of a comfortable, safe and reasonably priced bus. And why spend money to get a paperwork nightmare too?
I’m having trouble feeling accomplished so let’s break down my day, in order of importance to see what the facts have to say.
- Got the needed part and repaired a towel bar.
- First hair cut since November. Good for another 6 months! I learned that the buzzer’s attachments which determine hair length have a numeric rating system, with 1 being near bald and getting longer from there. I chose a 4 after a short conversation and seeing the outcome of a 1 on another’s hair. Near bald is true.
- Called the Illinois state trooper number to get a better understanding of the bus to RV conversion requirements. Waiting on a call back.
- Stopped at a garage to look into getting some blocks to raise the rear of the truck a few inches so the bike rack won’t scrape as much. Was told to get the parts and all good on the install.
- Cleaned a bike chain.
- Found & installed CSmart, a Craigslist phone app through which many places can be searched quickly. There are more buses out there than I believed.
- Found and made inquires of a bus in Philly – maybe get to see M JM!
- Went to look at the Philly bus ad again and found it was deleted. Bleck.
- Dishes and laundry.
Judge not least ye be judged.
I’m considering reactivating my Ryan Leech bike skills website subscription so I have a structured progression plan. Maybe I’m simply having one of those days.
Our afternoon bike ride was sultry and hot. We took a detour to avoid a baby skunk, choosing the speeding oncoming car peril for the spray potential. And made it to the dam, which is for both of us our farthest ride yet. We saw many beautiful herons along the river, still brown and swollen, with those strong currents and debris keeping the rowers on the ergs.
Ok, what I need to do is stop practicing bunny hopping without having something to hop up or over. I do them consistently better when I must. Does that suggest the first part, the manual, is inconsistent? I can attest to that being true.
