Teamwork
I was explaining to Sarah that I was having trouble pulling the trigger on purchasing a small refrigerator for the bus. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the cost. Sarah gets on the computer and finds one 45 minutes away, Now, in the garage, is a fricking refrigerator for nearly $300 less than the new price. Sarah for the win.
She also had the smart idea of using some kitchen cabinets for the upper shelf. We stopped at a reuse center, a subsidiary of Habitat for Humanity, and found some that we liked. Unfortunately, the store only sells groups of cabinets. Fortunately, she knows of another place closer to Chicago which does. We’re off there tomorrow.
We also met Nick The Battery Guy on the Refrigerator Quest. Really! He sells high amp-hour batteries for a very reasonable price and will install them too. At an hour away he’s not close though who I’ve called here doesn’t do what’s needed.
Truth be told, my vision for the shelf is very different. Watching myself respond and go through the steps to accept her better idea was interesting. Of course some of it was true dialogue. For instance, figuring out the finish; or how to mount the cabinets; or what to do since it will be difficult to angle them to help keep the cabinet’s contents inside said cabinets. Still, though, I’m smiling now thinking about how excited I was on my shelf design.
