A Day In Nashville
Woke up and took off for Nashville, where a resupply, ride and dinner went down. Best score at the store were two different pairs of not at all low end noise canceling headphones. They are like a miracle. No joke.
The ride was The Cain Ridge, with ridge being perhaps optimistic. Lots of roots, dense and young forest which must be stunning in the fall, super slippery, nice rolling action and a solid serving of fun turns.
It was easy to check trail status at the handy website.
I sure like bikes only trails. Walkers a plenty + fast riders = dystopia, on the trails bikers like.
The strawberry smoothies were made on the bus, and then off to ribs and cornbread at Edley’s BBQ. (Really, we snarfed.) Plus tasty iced tea. Yum.
We then retired at another rest area.
Tennessee has a well maintained highway system. For sure the best so far. Also, state parks are free. Nashville police cars use only blue lights. In Memphis I saw with my own eyes a police minivan.
