Yesterday and today were all about getting the battery storage shelf in order. It’s nice and stout. Tomorrow I’m having a service place wire it up.
Both RV places carry the same battery isolator, for about $30. It gets wired to the ignition. Thus when the vehicle is on the batteries it bridges are connected. I’ve wondered if the more expensive solenoid I have isn’t the appropriate choice.
I picked up the batteries at Sams Club today. While you’ve got to be a member, there’s a member for a day thing which means you pay 10% extra. Still, at $99 each for 215 amp hours (I bought 2 as these are 6V) that’s a lot of storage for less than a $1000 lithium battery + $650 amp lowering device.

My out of sight neighbor M F from Tucson stopped by again. He comes down the road with his dog who has only ever made friends. He actually found this place without the internet!
One thing that got me thinking is his lauding of the portable solar panels. He says with an 18 watt he’s charging even if the fridge is running.
