Sweetness
Post breakfast I rode the Quaking Aspen Trail. Most of it that is: I entered from the campground, a bit up from actual beginning/ending. It’s a beauty, 4 stars for sure. Minus one star because there are downhill sections vis a vis grade/direction that are not steep enough to carry good speed without pedaling. Otherwise it’s an incredible potluck of smooth and rocky, great corners, baby heads, whoop de doos, slickrock and drops in a gorgeous setting.

Not sure if I saw any Aspens. For sure these guys are not Crestonia Aspens. I was looking for the whitish bark, similar to the lovely east coast white birch. It’s worth a trip to New England for the trees frankly.

I’m now in ABQ. I mean literally at the airport, where I pick up Mme Awesome tomorrow. Meanwhile, dispersed camping means either braving “4×4” roads, driving 45 minutes or sleeping in an undeveloped couple acre parcel of airport property. There’s a little bit of a dirt road that takes me out of site of the main road and closer to long term parking. Here I am! Thankfully the tarmac is lightly used.
