I seem to have a traveling companion, picked up in the Flagstaff area. One night there was some suspicious scratching and so on and then lo! I found the tell tale little turds. So I picked up a 4 pack of the billions sold (yes the package does say that) mouse trap and that night set it with some cheese.

Next morning, the cheese is gone and the trap unsprung. Hmmm. So last night I set and bated two. Same thing! What a delicate creature. It appears the cheese is causing constipation too. I guess I’ll have to either get something sticky like peanut butter or use some of the prized almond butter and maybe three is the charm?

Still, it’s not not working: I haven’t woken up to more turds. Does that mean I have an ant infestation? Tune in next time for an exciting update!!!

Breakfast today included iced coffee wow what a treat. The nice lady in the McDonalds graciously filled my container up and after a 15 minute drive to a trailhead on the outskirts of town during which it shrunk to 2/3 the original height, it made a wonderful difference in my pancake breakfast.

About those pancakes. Here’s the recipe:

1. Add 3 eggs to a bowl and then beat for a bit
2. Mix in a tablespoon of chia or flax seeds
3. Add some vanilla
4. Add a pretty good amount of cinnamon, though mine is closer to tasteless than I’d ever imagine a spice could be as so adjust accordingly
5. Add 1/3-1/2 cup flour depending on appetite
6. Fry up with coconut oil
7. Savor with artisan coffee and plenty of maple syrup.

The folks begging at the intersections here are skinny. Think back to a holocaust film and maybe add 4 pounds. It’s not good; they have already lost what a serious illness would take.

I rode Trail 365 North. Good fun and wonderful color.

Actually I wasn’t thinking I’d ride today. Then I noticed this kid with his front wheel taken off and looking forlorn so I asked if a pump would be useful. He was stoked to be able to continue and the enthusiasm was happily infectious.

Upon returning to a surprisingly cool bus, I showered inside and experienced the power of evaporative cooling. Last night’s outdoor shower, though warmer than all the previous nights, had me shivering from the stiff breeze.
