Thoughts On When It Gets Negative
The low today is -3. Not that I’m planning on being outside then. High was 16. Clear and bright after the storm. Actually it snowed on Xmas eve and we walked home along the creek that night marveling at the black and white wonder.

I went up the same path today where I saw some folks snowshoeing. Plus some birds. They don’t have an issue with the weather.
The plan was to walk up to where I’d run out of steam carrying a big round of wood back to the pile on a prior day and dropped the thing, carry it closer and then go get another and repeat until tired and/or cold. The rounds originate farther than I’ve brought wood back from yet. They’re great on days like today when it is too cold to stop and saw. Plus they are more comfortably carried in front rather than on a shoulder. The important things.
Ok being here stops being too fun once in the 20s during the day. Otherwise it’s not actually that big a deal even biking. I’m surprised too let me tell you. We delayed leaving the Bay Area because it was a little below freezing at night. Never again! The spring, with the snowmelt maxing out the creeks will be nuts. Plus the sandyish soil will be at its best.
