Adversity
The water filter at the sink ultimately dropped output to some drips. Straight faucet draughts were not the nice taste and then when the association of the water and a not nice tummy was made the need to figure out a solution was given a higher priority.
First up; the tiny Sawyer, a small filter geared towards preventing giardia and other stuff. It was slow, didn’t screw into a hose and anyway it still was pretty gross tasting. Bleck!
Back in New Paltz at an actual Camping World some years ago when the first tank was becoming part of the bus, I’d picked up a pair of in line filters with the pump purchase as a just in case. Today, friends, as the need was dire, out came the water hose and filter to be put to the hazard via the spigot in the bathroom. Verdict: much improved and very acceptable until the Berkey filters arrive.
Yes, only filters as CA requires certification which, per Berkey’s website, isn’t financially viable, meaning other than the 1.5 gallon (their smallest dispenser), units just aren’t sold. What to do? Maybe fabricate? And then use those same excellent Berkey filters on the bus in another custom set up.
Otherwise progress is taking place on the siding prep and overall crumbling house remediation. This week saw the deck squared up again following it being completely free of the tree’s influence, the first time in a long time. Once done, the area by the front door and concrete pour plus the bit of cripple wall carpentry are what remains before the siding actually, finally and at long last becomes part of the house. Oh and the gutter covers too.
Note that my college crew team didn’t have much money and the resultant experiences with lower quality equipment and most everything else $ can buy that we couldn’t was collectively called Adversity. We do what we can.
