The Land of Alluvial Fans
Our Day in Death Valley.
Great waking up. Our bedroom is super comfortable. I’ll explain our gear sooner or later.
After actually entering the park and fixing a stove issue, we walked out into the bad water area, the lowest point in North America, where we met Patti and a couple from Quebec eating chocolate fondue out of a can in the blazing sun sitting in chairs.
2 facts: gas is going to be more than I was guessing at this rate; and the umbrella is a great asset.
The land is a showcase of angles, textures, colors, shadow and temperature and changes in distance change everything.
I never gave much thought to the park’s name. This place must have been one tough crossing in a wagon. Last chance hills and other markers clearly came from experience.
The bikes are getting cooked and I believe I can hear the tubeless stuff drying out. Folks it is hot and dry. Keep that between us ok?
We stayed at Mesquite Campground ground and took advantage of the facilities; it was great to wash my hair.
Good night and sweet dreams.
