Taos Bench Tour
The two of us left late morning for a stroll, food and coffee. We first headed across the street to check out the band and accoutrements at today’s park festival. Taos is happening, can’t argue. Our place is also so delightfully central. We left with good music still playing, some electrolyte drinks being handed out and a cubano for our first bench. Actually, a cubano with sour kraut – German / Cuban fusion?
Not exceptionally far from there we picked up some espressos over ice and headed to another bench to chat. Too cold in the shade, we moved to another and more conversation. Pretty much we’d walk a bit, then sit and so on. Real tourists. At one bench we watched as a well heeled woman share leadership with her equally well spirited dog, for sure with at least some Dalmatian ancestry. With her Sunday hat and heels and the doggie’s physical signals, they made quite a show and reminded us of the Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse gal and her pack of dogs.
While I had considered riding the South Boundary Trail tomorrow, I’m going to postpone since I’m still pooped from whatever I’ve been doing lately. Instead, we are going to ride the Rift Valley Trail. Maybe Tuesday for the SBT.
We were able to make it to watch Avengers: Infinity War at the Storyteller 7. The tickets totaled $11.50, less than a single ticket at the Emeryville AMC. The fellas bathroom also sported individual TVs for each urinal, though the stalls didn’t (yet?) get the upgrade. Comfortable, reclining seats too. The film itself was great fun.
The trip to the theater showed Taos has a section of town with all the familiar chains too. We really scored with our rental.
After the film we stopped at the groceries and enjoyed this stunning sunset.
The glory of it all.
