Help is Everywhere
Late in the afternoon I took a bike ride along the nearby Fox River. The trail, dozens of miles long, follows the water. It reminds me of the Schuylkill, and not just in looks; I’ve seen people out rowing too. A beautiful white heron landed maybe 15′ away and I saw perhaps 10 blue herons. That’s not too common on the Schuylkill. The flotsam from the cottonwood trees is in the air, making for a brilliant light show and behaving like snow as I zip past.
A stop along the Fox River.

We made a donation to the Gunnekun Foundation today to assist in the confusing need for the Teyuna to buy back land they’ve always lived upon. Similar to the French bankrupting Haiti over lost slave profits. As in WTF?
The people at the bank were all friendly and patient and upon my reply to the “anything else?” question, pointed me to a local school bus maintenance yard. At the facility I was given Sloan’s number which I promptly called.
I need to look at auctions too I’m thinking. When we moved to California back in the day, we bought a Ford minivan for practically nothing and it was phenomenal. While the drive from the east coast was cold and miserable, we also took the van on one of our favorite road trips, a drive up into Northern California and some of Oregon. It was our first time exploring the greater Mount Shasta area and wow was it great.
High up on Mount Shasta from back in the day.

On our way up to Castle Craigs, near Mount Shasta.

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for somewhere I can keep the pull-up work going. I found a spot to do reverse pushups close to my turnaround point and those are plenty good.
Really though, I’m pooped. The 2 year old had a tough night which means all of us had a tough night. Then Mme Awesome was up until 4 working on The Tour yikes! Also I’m continuing to strive to do some pushups and stuff a few times a week and I’m feeling last night’s work.
Off to mobilize and then to bed.
