Doing What I Can
The garage continues to have computer issues so no chance of bringing in the bus. Well…. to the exterior! Yes, time to start on painting. The internet says Henry Tropi-Cool all silicone paint is waterproof and minimizes UV and heat transfer. Very popular with the motor home and RV crowds. And of course the school bus converters.
Turns out the closest store with it in stock is an hour away. Luckily M S is near and able to pick up. Whew.
This also means that it was time to get down and paint. Thus I was out on a ladder, hovering over a metal roof, sanding and prepping in 95 degree temperatures with loads of humidity. To help, I stuffed a narrow piece of closed cell foam down the back of my shirt to save my neck and head. A collar of sorts. I’m sure it looked super cool.
Ultimately, I sanded the roof, goofed-off the residue from some freed stickers and hosed my canvas down. That residue is so tough, that I am thinking of leaving the stickers rather than having to deal with it. Maybe I can finish the bus roof prep this weekend.
