The Finished Product, Mostly
Inside the bus.

Some things to note: the new driver’s seat and a passenger’s as well; we have two factory school bus benches, each with two seatbelts; the full width bench officially has seating for four, though often it is used to recline and has frequently been a bed; the shelves in the back provide lots of storage and we can get to them by hopping over the bench, the back door or the side door formerly for the wheelchair lift; the factory cabinet above the driver’s seat is filled with tools and bike stuff; lastly are the upper cabinets from a reuse store which magically fit.
When we are back to two, I’ll take out the pair of bus seats and stash them in the back to make room for a full size mattress, running the same orientation as the full width sofa and essentially an extension. I finally have the parts and tools to complete the house wiring so we can start using the fridge without ice. I’ll probably have to change the shelf heights in the back to accommodate the bikes too. Curtains and bug screens would be nice, and the windows in the back which are blocked by the shelves will get some kind of insulated covering. Don’t forget an under mounted water tank with a powered pump for showers!! That’s it folks.
On our wish list are new shocks, soundproofing the front from the mongo engine and fixing the wiper fluid mechanical. Maybe a stereo, though not until it is quiet enough inside to hear it.
The return drive was much easier. I’m guessing due to traveling north which kept the sun pouring in via the windshield. I’m off to start charging the drill so I can get the electric settled.
