Taking The Opportunity
The mamos fly out tonight and their representative tomorrow. Next up is early September in NY. Time to deal with the outstanding items. Got a date at a garage on Thursday for replacing the shocks, resolving the house electric and fixing the wiper fluid hose issue. The estimate is one day and then maybe we leave Friday.
This dry and dusty land – I literally had to move the bus when the regular gusts sending the arid soil airborne was joined by intermittent sprinkles, the right ratio to cake over the windshield.
M G’s sister Mme K had to wear headphones if she was listening to Duran Duran at home. Yes, it’s true and I have a tape to prove it.
After the mamos were safely on the plane, I went to Home Depot and picked up what I think I need for the little bit of bus construction. Ok, technically HD followed dropping off the mattress, which has been hauled from St Charles, truly thousands of miles of road, for this very moment at M B’s, with whom we’ll be staying the following two nights. He is also graciously letting me use his tools. Thank you!!
We also need to comb through what’s in the truck we may want as our paths will diverge in but days. Maybe we don’t need all the camping stuff, which is, as you already know, enough for 6 additional people.
