The heat has me dreaming about bus shower facilities again. Step one is deciding where the water tank is going to go.
The most room is under the bus, all the way in the back, below where we store stuff. It’d mean adding sloppy weight on the tail though.
The next is also under the bus, this time behind the driver’s seat. Essentially under where the fridge sits. Well protected though not as much room as I thought. Perhaps a long and narrow tank. At some point I’d have to cross the exhaust and driveshaft to get to the pump as my vision is to have it doing its thing on the passenger side of the bus.
The final underneath option underneath is between the house battery and rear tires on the passenger side. While not the biggest space, there are convenient I-beams available. Definitely the best location outside of the bus logistics-wise, provided I can find the right tank.
Lastly, there is for sure room inside the bus under the bed. Great because no need to drill holes for anything. Also I can mount it dead center. Big drag if it leaks and I’d probably have to take a lot of the couchbed apart to put install the tank.
Hmmm.
The cabinet doors currently are kept shut via some ribbon used to tie the handles together. It works mostly, save for heavy stuff like honey consistently escaping when going over something bumpy in a turn. Current ideas:
- Put that stuff in a larger box to make getting through the small door opening not possible.
- Make a lip out of some wood along the opening so the door doesn’t have to stop such items.
- Get a latch which keeps the door shut.
- Don’t store anything in the cabinet.
Check out this guy. My hero. Tip that bike Zeke!!!!!
