Yay The Bus Is Back
Snazzy new brakes and working wiper squirters too!!
The last couple of days, while the bus was in the shop, I was able to drive a Prius and a small Honda all wheel drive hatchback. Wow so different! I am used to expending much more energy on pressing the fuel and brake pedals. Translated, I was snapping my head back and effectively slamming on the breaks. And boy do I drive slow now. Super duper slow. Also, the bus has trained me to do whatever it takes to keep the “I’m getting close to tipping over on this here turn” absent as best I can.
M R takes the waste and recycling to the dump rather than paying for the service. I went along to help sort glass from plastic from cardboard and see the scene. First of all, on the way there is a pump track. As in dang I would have so been there! Maybe by tomorrow it’ll be dry.
Anyway, a lot of plastic is not accepted. Ignoring of course that plenty of things are obviously going in the landfill here please section. The surprise was the no clamshell plastics rule. That means any plastic container which has a lid attached on one side via a plastic hing goes in the trash.
A society is measured by how it treats its weakest members.
And then individuals by their trash, no? I’m going to actually reuse how I carry home food I get from the bulk section. Time to get real.
