355 Miles Later
Since the bus is very loud, we wear noise cancellation headphones nearly every minute on the highway. This, in turn, leads to plenty of audio potential. For someone like me, with little accidental exposure to new music since the big Brasil trip and at best modest interest in seeking it out, these times usually turn into another oldies but goodies session.
Not complaining; I always get amped when Tom Sawyer is playing. Plenty of others too.
The anthesis are the songs reminding me of times or situations I’d rather forget. Of course, once in such a mood, it’s easy to skip around to make an off the cuff mix which doesn’t help.
There are entire bands with only uplifting associations. The Beastie Boys and Van Halen, for example. As serious as are some Def Leppard songs, by only ever rocking out to them I’m safe.
What’s up with this kind of behavior? We are such kooky kreatchers.
