The North Shore
Morning found us swimming back at Pupukea Beach Park, the area enclosed by reef and also popular with snorkelers. The surf is incredible, creating mesmerizing waterfalls and plums which tower over the land.
More visual wonder.

For lunch we biked to Waimea Valley for the weekly 2 pm farmer market and picked up an order of fish tacos and shrimp spring rolls, both yummy. The bike ride back included a bag loaded with local fruits and vegetables. By the way, the pineapple was not ultralight.
The bikes are beach cruisers, which means fixed gear, handlebars designed to be used as a seat, and coaster brakes. The riding position is very upright, the opposite of my neck braking road bike.
A quick stop to drop off the food and we took off to Pipeline. We were advised to head up the beach where, of course, the rainbow touched down.
Definitely the biggest waves I’ve ever seen in person and apparently rated as fair to good at 8′. As in these are bacano at best. Friday or Saturday brings XXL swells, something we will hopefully be lucky enough to witness.
Another dip in the sheltered pool at sunset post Pipeline and then back to the place for some eats and downtime.
Never been here. First thing noticed is not much license plate variety. In fact, haven’t seen any other states. Also, when perpendicular parking in a lot, more cars are backed in than nose first. GTFO. Many free range chickens too. Major differences from the mainland brah.
Most miraculous of all and against all odds, Zeke is still not sunburned!
