The Long Drop
The colonies of course all share a common root language. In Middle Earth it is actually named the common tongue. Above ground, time and circumstance have made for truly charming variations.
The first time we came here, we learned mozzie (mozy?) is Kiwi for mosquito. Breckie means breakfast. White pointer is a great white shark. Togs translates to swimsuit. Sweet as!
Building codes certainly exist here too, and aberrations require payment (bribe?) for consideration. An exception is allowed when no more than 10 square meters.
It should thus come as no surprise are staying in one of many 10 square meter buildings found here. A room with a bed, drawers and a chair. There is another small building a couple of steps away with a 2 burner stove, some pots and so on. The shower and sink in yet another building a short walk further. As an erudite reader, you’ve no doubt recognized we’re left with the facilities. Well, when the time is right, we stroll on over to the long drop, Kiwi for outhouse.
The tail end of sunset.

The view but a few steps from our door. You can see Mme Awesome by the water if you look closely.
