Fruits of the Earth
Eating locally grown food is great of course because of less energy needed for transport, per the Macrobiotic philosophy we need local food and their local nutrients, and because fruit ripened naturally tastes so fricking amazing. Case in point: I’d given up on kiwi fruits as the ones in the states are, at best, disappointing; here, at the source, they are positively a furry ball of juicy scrumptious yum.
This summer, especially the big tour in the bus, was chock full of new and unusual people. Plus the majorly different demands and situations that come from finding, buying, renovating, maintaining and driving a 5 1/2 ton, 23’ diesel school bus.
Now that it’s over, no fault of anyone of course, I’m left removed from the regular good times and friends from my prior life and what kept me occupied and focused pre March 3, my last day of 9-5 employment.
With the remaining days in NZ close to single digits, it’s time to consider what’s next. To be sure I still have things to do, namely finishing the bus improvements. I also must get out of my own way and reconnect with my friends. I’m really looking forward to some great reunions.
