At last! A load of sun this week has made for decent trails and, therefore, today’s partial JM shuttle. Specifically, at the end of Big Trees I rode back up the paved road and turned back to go again on the trail I’d just finished.

I’d never done quite that, such a quick reriding of a trail. Definitely tentative the first time and it was cool to experience the way I negotiated the trail before and after. Plus this added some elevation to help edge me along.

More on the differences between the Heckler I rode on GBI vs. the Commencal…. I can’t tell if the larger wheels (26″ vs 27.5″, although with larger tires on the larger rims I’m betting the diameters are surely at least some bit more than 1 1/2″ different) or slacker head tube or what is likely a longer fork made for easier rolling over / through stuff – especially ruts. Or some grisly ratio of the three? The grippy rubber and larger tire knobs are appreciated too.
