The spare tire could sinch way up high if the muffler was moved. It sits just behind and parallel to the rear axle. It could go same orientation and as far to the rear or in the space between the port rear tires and bumper. No muffler shops open today; my guess is this will happen in Albuquerque (potentially) or Santa Fe (where I put my money).
This was a moment for me: I have not until this day while laying under the back of the bus brainstorming in a Home Depot parking lot on the west side of Flagstaff hoping my legs were completely safe been comfortable enough to have such an idea.

I rode another spur ride from the same Walnut Canyon trailhead as Thursday, this time heading south. Much better with the waste-pack instead of the heater of a backpack.

Riding here reminds me of the great trails at the near to Napa’s Annandale State Park, meaning a full serving of rocks. Today included a wicked killer descent with all kinds of rock action going into a gorge. So killer the only other biker I saw was pushing and puffing as I passed on the way down. It crossed my mind right then I too would soon do the same.

So far and with albeit a small sampling, I prefer riding in Flagstaff and for sure LV to Sedona. Less expensive, easier parking and fewer traffic jams too. I found Sedona to be rock overload and missed the other stuff such as el swooping turns.
Today’s ride was 46 flights; Thursday’s was 35.

Since the bed is also a couch and head-foot side can change due to slope, one sits on it in many positions and angles. When dark it is common for me to have to take a minute to orient myself before heading in the right direction.
