Trestle Bike Park
Last night was cold. In the bus too I mean. I’d left most every window wide open to enjoy the wonderful afternoon and evening breezes.
11 hour later I’m up, glad to still be totally covered in blankets and feeling the wonder that is described as being recovered. Quick put-away session while the huge engine warms up some and I’m off for Trestle Park for a bathroom and to make some breakfast.

Today was a great day of riding on expertly crafted trails at what is most definitely a killer park. For instance, those same scrumptiously swooping, impeccable turns, begging to be railed, that compel me to huff it at Santa Cruz’s Demo Forrest are here too. I mean bountiful guys. Plus all the folks working there were so helpful and friendly you’d be compelled to write about it.
Note there was some uphill too – my phone actually says 13 floors – and I felt it. The truth is I was essentially panting non stop and drinking all day and was regularly compelled to stop to catch my breath and / or give my legs a break.
Each group is a trip down. The first four were aboard a gondola into which you wheeled you bike and provided 1700′ of descent. The last ride was on a genuine chairlift which meant serious bag clutching versus wondering what I may have left behind in the comforts of the gondola.

That was 4.8 miles of trail btw. Solid place to work on turns. Next time I’d exit midway to something different.

- Lower Boulevard
So fun I pretty much did it again!

- Long Trail
- Jury duty (maybe? Can’t remember)
- Lower Boulevard
Ate a bit at the top. At this point I started doing some flexibility stuff after disembarking the lift. It made an obviously positive difference.

- Dyno Bones
Didn’t plan on Dyno Bones; it was a fortunate wrong turn that lead to another lift and some of its unexplored series of trails.

- Double Jeopardy – the start of this was majorly rocky and steep, definitely the most challenging section of the day for me

- Long Trail
Exquisitely exhausted, I drove back to the same five star spot, ate, did some mobility stuff, double dipped in the oh so refreshing stream and called it a day.
