Heading West, Per The Plan
We left Albuquerque pretty early for us. Headed for Herrera Coach to drop off the bus bench we’d left at M. B’s place, specifically, in the garage. This reuse idea was of course Mme Awesome’s. By the way, driving for a bit also hauling a chair which is most obviously in the way required more concentration. So they really took it and placed it in a long row of its brethren to, one day, perhaps, again be in service.
In the yard. Notice the difference between gold and School Bus Yellow… fascinating.

Next stop: Zuni Mountains for some biking. We had a good time in a beautiful setting. It feels much more humid here, a welcome change.
Here is the route to LV. After, we go to Death Valley, up the sierras on the east, cross through Yosemite and the back to the Bay Area, though apparently subject to change.
Some of the Burma Trail.

We had some killer chicken sandwiches upon return. The plan then said to drive .7 miles further for camping in Quaking Aspen Campground. Alas, the gate was closed and back to I 40 we went, still providing wonderful scenery.
We had to adapt and overcome this adversity. Putting our heads together at a Love’s Travel Center resulted in our spot just west of Petrified Forest National Park, which we’ll check out tomorrow.
The top picture is from a walk in Albuquerque. It is the year of Haiti’s independence.
