Max Elevation Change In A Day
I watched a Ramping Isometrics video on this skills site to which I actually give money. Also this, which I luv and sounds deliciously familiar. Is not yoga a way to get stronger in certain positions?
If you want to be better at something, we practice, right? Then why not practice being in a piece of a tuff position with marginal resistance so that position becomes stronger/better/whatever? If there is pain, break down the activity further and at a lower intensity. The win is being able to do complicated movements, like walking, better. No win in working too hard thinking this is about being hard core. Corpse pose has tremendous potential!
We drove through the amazing Death Valley Park to get to the southern end of the Sierra. It was of course really hot. By the time we arrived at our campsite, the water had long ago stop being chilled.
Walking through the coolest canyons.

You’re screwed if your in a wagon and decide straight ahead is correct incorrectly. First there’s the eastern decent. Thousands of feet. Then the valley of death itself. Then up and back down a towering mountain range. More desert, by the way officially still in the National Park. More mountains and then another desert miles wide. Or, to bypass the epically rugged eastern Sierras, on must go forever south in yet another crazy dry valley.
I’m pretty sure we traversed over 14 thousand feet. Slept at 6000′; descended to below seal level; to over 5000′, down to 1000′; back to 4000′
