Seven Months
Today is another anniversary from leaving the Bay Area. Seven!
We woke up at our frigid campsite near Flagstaff and agreed it is time to head back. While we feel better than yesterday, the truth is we are ready to take a breather. This would have been the time to go north to Zion.
A couple hours later after some protein powder and French toast, due to the distaste of driving on I 5, desire to visit Yosemite and biking we like in Las Vegas, we decided to go back to red rocks, and then continue with the route post Zion and St. George.
What happens with the bus? Probably going to find a private parking lot for the next few months. There are of course more repairs to get it fully operational, such as getting the emergency brake and dash lights working.
Unless the experiment didn’t succeed. The bus gets horrible mileage; not recommended to run on used vegetable oil; is so wide that many forest roads usually become single lane, barely that sometimes; maintenance is costly; as loud as ever; we’ve had some tipsy moments as the suspension is not a good fit for the stress the 5 tons creates.
What happens to Zeke? Anyone’s guess really.
We had a great ride and the area is still beautiful.
The lovely sunset from our campsite.

Both of us feel magnitudes of better. Yesterday, around the same time, we suddenly had the aches which come with the flu. I guess I was kinda tired when I woke. I guess. We went to bed early, big suprise, and woke up feeling better. Weird about the synchronicity.
