Traps
A lovely thing which contributed greatly to the length of my happy sql server dba career was that, unlike carpentry, a dba actually can always have a way to undo.
In my new career, that of a Bus Conversion Specialist, time and lack of consequence has given me some consistent practice at carpentry.
I’m out on a bike ride. I left thinking I’d go around the lake, a mostly flat, easy 6 mile lollipop route. On the far side of the lake is a strip of park with a decent bike lane and by far my favorite part. A couple of blocks from home, however, I decided I needed some searing climbing to get me out of my funk, which culminated in arriving at Joaquin Miller Park without a mountain bike and tired legs.

72 flights per my phone. A single trip on Big Trees with Mme Awesome here is 15. A Skeggs shuttle is a mostly contiguous 30. The rare loop at Soquel Demo, high on my list of favorites, is 180, essentially split into two climbs. Thus, on most of my rides I’ll maybe work hard for 6 minutes, this is no joke.
There are plenty people making their way up and down this fabulous escaderia. Shoot, I’ve run these very same stairs! And then countless in the name of crew? I don’t miss them honestly.
Coming up here was a good idea. Mme Awesome actually came up too. We had a little picnic and then I cruised home while she walked around the park.

Here is my view as I write at the playground. You can see my favorite water fountain to the left of the structure.
